Terrific Tofino

Ahh Tofino - what a magnificent place, after a week of camping here it was very hard to leave and we had dreams of living by the sea in this georgeous little town. Tofino is on the west coast of Vancouver island about 5oo kms north of Victoria. On one side is the pacific ocean and on the other a maze of a bay complete with river inlets and islands. Tofino is the start of Clayoquot Sound, and internationally recognised area of environmental significance. Why did we love it? Huge trees, bears, otters, candied salmon, whales, cute houses, friendly locals, great camp site, rocky beaches and cuppas looking out to sea.

Its good to be out of the car after a long drive
Campsites are quite manicured as the bush is so thick

View from our favourite coffee shop
Big Beautiful Bald Eagles can be watched while relaxing on the beach
