Cruisin the streets of San Francisco with flowers in our hair

Anna, Scotty and Maisey have landed in San Fransisco! The dreaded 18 hours of airtime to get here went smoother than we expected, Maya handled it with ease and her parents with slightly less ease but no major drama. The food, headsets, people, toys and mums boobs kept our girl amused and she didn’t let out too many of her trademark screeches and we were not asked to leave any planes as Anna had feared. First new skill learned: how to successfully change nappies in very confined spaces. We arrived in San Fransisco slightly bedraggled but happy and headed to the funky Lower Haight to catch up on some sleep and pick up on some of those sixties hippy vibes that you get in the infamous Haight Ashbury part of the world. We had a ball in San Fransisco, we practically walked the entire hilly city and saw all the famous sights. As in australia we are so immersed in US culture, we constantly felt as though we had stepped into a movie set. We took a crazy little boat ride out to see Alcatraz - Second lesson learned, Maya gets seasick – avoid small boats

We survived the flight, just !!
The Sea Lions moved in and took over the marina after the last earthquake and never left. Those city slickers !

One of the interesting houses
The corner of Haight and Ashbury streets. The one time centre of the hippy universe, where it all began in the early 60s
Foggy Golden Gate

Hi Anna, Scott,
You look like you're having a ball. Great to hear from the globetrotters. I am getting ready to do our trip north for this year with three old school mates: Cobourg NP, Kakadu Savannah Highway and the Gulf Country with maybe a bit of Barra fishing thrown in..
Love from all

PS Nick and Kristy have moved to Canberra but will be living at Canungra from next Jan.!!!
